Firefighters from at least three area companies battled a heavy fire at a detached garage on the 400 block of East Swamp Road in Doylestown Township Thursday afternoon, disrupting traffic around the Route 202/E State Street intersection.

Heavy fire was showing from the front and left side of the garage upon arrival, per reports from the scene. The heavy smoke header could be seen from Route 202, approaching Chalfont Borough from Montgomeryville.

PECO is expected on scene to cut power to the residential garage.

Swamp Road is closed at Route 202.

Buckingham, Midway, Doylestown and Warwick fire departments are on scene, as are Central Bucks Police and Midway and Doylestown Fire Police.
