An Eagles loss to the Commanders this week would officially end the Dallas Cowboys' playoff hopes. Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons is rooting for the Commanders anyway, he told reporters Thursday:

It wasn't immediately clear which social media posts upset Parsons.

Any scenario for the Cowboys to make the playoffs begins with the Commanders losing all of their remaining games. Even then, they'd need some additional help. But it's rare to hear a professional athlete give up on a season before his team is mathematically eliminated.

It's also surprising to hear that Parsons has such a grudge against the Birds. He'll be a free agent after the 2025 season, and there's a long-running joke (half-joke?) that he wants to join the Eagles.

In additional comments made Thursday, Parsons sounds like he very much wants to remain with Dallas beyond his current contract:

(Parsons probably still wants to be an Eagle deep down.)
