The Montgomery County Commissioners have announced that the County is accepting applications for open positions on several of its public boards. Montgomery County’s Workforce Development, Planning Commission, and Health Boards each have vacant positions open to experts and advocates in the general public.
The County’s boards and commissions provide transparency and agency to residents as they inform the policies and day-to-day functions of the County government. Interested individuals may apply for any open positions via the board websites.
Montgomery County’s Workforce Development Board (MontcoWorks) seeks several members to support its work administering workforce programming that is designed to meet the diverse needs of employers and job seekers in Montgomery County. MontcoWorks serves Montgomery County as the local area’s workforce development board, providing market-driven information and services that align with regional and statewide workforce development planning.
There are several vacancies on the Board of Health. The Board acts as an advisory council for the County’s Commissioners and health director in creating regulations for the prevention of disease and the promotion of public health. Two of the five board members must be physicians licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
The Planning Commission Board, established to advise the County Commissioners and the Planning Commission in a collective effort, seeks one additional member. The nine-person Planning Commission Board supports Montgomery County as it works to maintain and improve the high quality of life by promoting sound planning, strengthening the transportation network, supporting healthy and prosperous communities, and working to create vibrant places and protect natural and historic resources.
