What does your typical day look like, and how do you make it productive?
My typical day starts very early. This includes boat detailing, such as buffing and waxing. Recently, I've been training in AC repair on superyachts, high-performance speedboats, and fishing vessels. Most days conclude with a fishing trip.
How do you stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies?
I stay informed via social media and daily networking with trained field technicians and boat captains.
Can you recall a significant challenge or failure you faced and how you overcame it?
By far, my preparations for MEPS and Marine boot camp were the most challenging in my life mentally and physically. It required significant study time and physical training. I failed the ASVAB several times before finally succeeding on my third attempt. I didn't let failure deter me and kept trying until I achieved my goal.
What is your approach to starting a new project?
I approach a project by first researching the subject and then seeking advice from experts in the field.
What is the toughest decision you've had to make in the last few months? What was the outcome? Would you do anything differently today?
The toughest decision I've made recently was committing to the detailing category of the maritime industry. Initially, I didn't plan to take it seriously and thought it would be short-term. However, I quickly developed a love for it and now look forward to taking my new skills to another level.
What was the worst job you ever had, and what did you learn from it?
The worst job by far was working part-time security at a weekend event in a hotel in The Bahamas. I quickly realized that it was not the job for me.

For many years, I thought I wasn't a hands-on person. While in boot camp and infantry school in the Marine Corps, I developed hands-on skills. Even though they were taught to me, I had to fine-tune them on my own.

My boot camp drill instructors were extremely impactful. Under their command, I learned many life skills and disciplines that shaped who I am today.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
Success for me is getting up every day in the face of adversity and never giving up. Even though my bank account might not reflect success to the common man, the fact that I view each day as an opportunity to try harder than the day before is my definition of success.
