Lansdalians: You watched out and you did not cry.

There were no pouts in the crowd at Railroad Plaza Friday, and we’ll tell you why: Santa Claus has come to town.

Lansdale residents, visitors and dignitaries gathered in the borough after 6 p.m. Friday, where Mayor Garry Herbert, along with Little Miss Lansdale Sophia Grebe, led the countdown for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

Fairmount Fire Co. ushered Santa into town on its fire engine – and will escort Big Red around town on Dec. 21 for the Annual Santa Run, starting around 4:30 p.m.

People also visited the Discover Lansdale Holiday Tree Display at 307 Derstine Avenue, The Reporter building, and voted for their favorite trees. You can vote too. It is open Thursday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Jan. 4.
