Police are currently investigating a potential shooting which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, Dec. 8 in Montgomery Township.
According to county dispatch, a call was received around 2:06 a.m. Sunday morning to the 400 block of Doylestown Pike in Montgomeryville. Callers reported that a shooting incident was happening at the 202 Marketplace, dispatch said.
Dispatch notes reported that there was someone shooting from a grey Dodge Ram, stating that “multiple [were] shots fired” and that the caller said suspect(s) seemed to be “shooting at random people.”
According to dispatch, the caller said they were hiding in place, but that the vehicle was still on location, near Boca Del Mar within the shopping complex. Police were able to obtain a description of the pickup truck and a license plate, with Pennsylvania tags displayed.
Montgomery Township Police Lieutenant Gerry Dougherty said that the matter is under investigation, but that there is no threat to public safety.
"There is no danger to the public," said Dougherty. "The incident is under investigation, and we have identified the individuals involved."
