State Sen. Tracy Pennycuick, R-24th Dist., along with Skippack Township, the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and AARP, will be hosting a “Scam Jam” event from 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 13 at the Skippack Township Building.

Scammers are especially active during the holidays, as spending, online shopping and charitable giving increase. While scams may take different forms, the underlying method is often the same: preying on emotions, circumstances, or lack of knowledge to take financial advantage of another party. Remaining vigilant and knowing the warning signs is paramount, according to a press release from Pennycuick’s office.

“This event serves as a comprehensive educational experience on the latest scam tactics and prevention strategies,” Pennycuick said. “Our expert speakers will provide valuable insights and actionable advice to help you protect yourself and your loved ones from the ever-evolving world of fraud.”

The Skippack Township Municipal Building is located at 4089 Heckler Road, Skippack, PA 19474.

The event is free and non-commercial. Attendance is limited, and registration is strongly recommended. To register, visit senatorpennycuick.com/scamjam-registration/ or call Pennycuick’s office at 215-541-2388.
