Jacob H. Daub constructed a store at what is now 512 West Walnut Street during the 1890’s. He sold groceries, ice cream and items from his bakery, specializing in pretzels. Jacob’s son, Harvey later operated the store into the 1930’s as Harvey Daub Grocery.

The building was renovated in 1943 by Gene Farkus into a dry cleaner and tailor shop. “Gene the Tailor” was a popular Perkasie business remaining at this location until 1968.

Later, the building was home to Dean’s Ceramics, Sturtz TV, Fly’s and Flintlocks, Ridgerunner Shoes and Metal Health Gym. Perkasie Borough purchased the property and demolished the building in 2000 to make the Walnut Street Parking Lot.
