Man killed in fatal 2-car crash Wednesday night in Hilltown Township

A 36-year-old Lower Salford man was pronounced dead at the scene after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night at the intersection of Route 113 and Diamond Street in Hilltown Township, which closed roadways for more than three hours.

Police released the name of the deceased as Robert Strohm, of Brookside Circle, Harleysville.

At 6:30 p.m., Hilltown Police responded to an accident with injuries at the intersection. Investigators found two silver sedans with severe damage, with one car smashed into a building with severe driver’s side impact damage.

The driver of the second car was taken by Chal-Brit Regional EMS to Grand View Hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

According to reports from the scene, the crash involved a silver, four-door Volkswagen with heavy front-end damage and a second vehicle, a silver four-door Toyota, with serious driver’s side damage. The Toyota appeared to have driven into the back of a red, barn-style shed located in a residential yard.

Hilltown Police were assisted by Chal-Brit Regional EMS, Silverdale Fire Company, Bucks County Coroner’s Office, and Fire Police from several area fire companies.
