The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced a truck detour for westbound Route 463 (Horsham Road) as part of an extensive project to improve travel and safety at the Five-Points Intersection in Montgomery Township.

From Monday, and continuing through Spring 2025, trucks traveling westbound on Route 463 will be unable to make a right-hand turn onto Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road).

Trucks will be redirected to use the U.S. 202 Parkway and County Line Road. This detour is necessary for the reconstruction and widening of the intersection.

Additionally, the Five-Points Intersection will be closed on Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the removal of large overhead signs.

The intersection improvement project will add through lanes on Route 463 and southbound Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), increasing the number of approach lanes from 15 to 18.

These changes aim to enhance traffic flow and reduce accidents. Other upgrades include signalization improvements, sidewalk and ADA curb ramp installations, guiderail upgrades, stormwater drainage enhancements, new signage, and pavement markings.

Motorists should anticipate backups and delays and plan extra travel time. All activities are weather dependent.
