On Tuesday evening, Rita's Italian Ice teamed up with the Chalfont Fire Company to raise money for the local first-responders. The Chalfont Square Shopping Center was filled with members of the fire company, as well as ladder trucks and fire engines.

While cooling down with a favorite cold treat, patrons could also tour the different trucks and learn about how the fire company operates. A percentage of the Italian ice sales went to the fire company to support its efforts.

Deputy Fire Chief Mike Bintner said, “The fire company has been fully volunteer since 1904,” which means that it often relies on the community for financial support. Bintner further stated that the company is always looking for new volunteers. Anyone aged 16 and up is invited to come see what the company are all about.
