After a car put a hole in the wall of Yum Yum Bake Shops in Colmar Tuesday afternoon, staff was back early Wednesday morning putting holes in the dough.

At 5 a.m., regulars were already coming for the coffee, and staying for the hole-in-the-wall charm.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Yum Yum posted on its Facebook that it would be open for business next day.

It was at least the second time the wall has been hit in five years; all in all, there have been at least five incidents involving vehicles hitting the exterior wall.

“Well done! Glad everyone is OK and truly amazed you’re able to open again so quickly,” commented Jennifer Field.

Marie Ployd’s son coming in from Tennessee can now get his donuts; his dad worked at Yum Yum for more than 40 years as a baker.

“He won’t eat any other donuts,” commented Ployd.
