A Thursday night blaze on Waterford Drive in Hatfield Township left the home uninhabitable, according to Hatfield Fire Marshal Mike Waldron, and the cause remains under investigation.

The fire broke out at 9:07 p.m. Thursday at 820 Waterford Drive, owned by Scott Fischer, according to Montgomery County property records.

Waldron said the fire was well involved when the first emergency responders arrived on scene.

The cause and location of fire is under investigation, Waldron said.

The damage is extensive and the house is likely a total loss, he said.

There were no injuries. The homeowner was home at the time of the fire, per reports from the scene.

Waterford Drive was closed during the fire, and the scene was cleared as of 12:32 a.m. Friday.

Hatfield Vol. Fire Co. was assisted at the scene by Towamencin Vol. Fire Co., Perseverance Fire Co., Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, Hilltown Township Fire Co., Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale, Telford Fire Co., Hatfield Police, and Hatfield Fire Marshal. VMSC Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene as well. 0

When asked if authorities anticipate filing charges as a result of the incident, Waldron said that is under investigation.
