Bicyclist remains in very serious condition at Grand View Hospital after being hit by minivan Thursday afternoon

 A 44-year-old Lansdale man remains in very serious condition at the trauma unit of Grand View Hospital after the electric bicycle he was riding was hit by a minivan Thursday afternoon in Towamencin.

Police said the crash was reported at 3:38 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Forge and Allentown roads, involving a silver 2022 Chrysler Town & Country minivan and an electric bicycle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said and a determination on charges will not be made until the investigation is completed.

Valley Forge and Allentown roads were closed at the intersection during the investigation, and the scene was cleared by 6:50 p.m., police said.

Towamencin Township Police and VMSC EMS were assisted at the scene by Lansdale Police, officers from the North Penn Regional Crash Investigation Team, North Penn Fire Co. Fire Police and Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Police.

Investigators are presently working on getting video from the bank and several witnesses have been interviewed, police said.
