This week's highlights ahead include National Night Out at various locations in the North Penn area and a tiki party in North Wales.

MONDAY, AUG. 5

North Penn Police Athletic League hosts a National Night Out in Towamencin in the North Penn High School parking lot, 1340 S. Valley Forge Road, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Food vendors include Wrap ‘N Roll, Funella’s Funnel Cake, Dough and Co., and Fruits of Our Labor Smoothies. A JeffStat helicopter landing is set for 7 p.m., and A Flick of the Wrist Painting will have activities. Guests include North Penn area police departments, fire departments, ambulance services, Montgomery County service organizations, State Game Commission, State Dog Warden and more.


TUESDAY, AUG. 6

Lansdale Police and Montgomery Township Police hold their respective NNO events. Lansdale will run their party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lansdale Borough Hall, 1 Vine St., Lansdale. A dunk tank at the Lansdale event benefits Manna on Main Street, with special guests Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine, Lansdale Council Vice President Meg Currie Teoh, and Lansdale Police officers.

Other features of the Lansdale NNO include hot dogs and refreshments, Little’s Ice Cream, swag, an obstacle course, a bounce house, music and more. Corporate supporters include Rental World, Herr’s, Lidl, Little’s Ice Cream & Water Ice, Schmidt, Grocery Outlet Lansdale, and Wawa. Other attendees include the North Penn Boys & Girls Club, Abington Hospital, Montgomery County Public Safety, North Penn YMCA, NAMI, Home at Last, Grocery Outlet, Laurel House, Pennsylvania National Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S Army, FBI and ACLAMO.

Montgomery Township Police will hold its National Night Out event at William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae, 1147 Kenas Road, North Wales, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event features live music, balloon art, face painting, dunk tank, games, a K-9 meet-and-greet, emergency vehicle displays and an Elsa and Rapunzel Princess Meet-and-Greet. There will also be bike helmet giveaways.


Well Crafted, 310 Madson St., Lansdale, holds its Open Mic Night, starting at 7 p.m.


WEDNESDAY, AUG. 7

Wednesday is a night of music and trivia in the area.

Little Red Rooster Band plays in Perkasie at the Lenape Park Amphitheater, 555 Constitution Ave. at 7 p.m. Montgomery Township holds its final summer concert with Studio Two from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., featuring a Wrap ‘N Roll food truck, at the Montgomery Township Community & Recreation Center, 1030 Horsham Road, Montgomeryville. Greaseband rocks Upper Gwynedd’s Parkside Park, 1 Parkside Place, North Wales, at 7 p.m. for the township’s Concert in the Park series.

If trivia is up your alley, head over to Well Crafted, 310 Madison St., Lansdale for Trivia with Annie Christ at 7:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, AUG. 9

Go party at Tex Mex Connection, 201 E. Walnut St. in North Wales at its Tiki Party, starting at 5 p.m. Hatfield Township Parks & Recreation is showing “The Avengers” outdoors at School Road Park, 1619 School Road, Hatfield at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, AUG. 10

Lansdale Police features its annual Bike Rodeo at 9 a.m. at White’s Road Park, 400 Whites Road. .McAllister Brewing Company, 810 Dickerson Road, North Wales, hosts a Stray Cat Blues fundraiser from noon to 9 p.m.
