  • Things To Do

Fire up your appetite for a good cause.

On Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., the sizzling sound of burgers on the grill and the aroma of charred beef will signal more than a barbecue - it is a chance to support local heroes with Fairmount Fire Co. in Lansdale.

Cannoneers Sportsmens Club, 501 W. Fifth St., Lansdale, is turning up the heat with a public burger fundraiser that promises to ignite community spirit and raise money for the fire company to use for equipment and training.

The cost is $10 pre-pay via Venmo @cannoneers-club, or $12 for walk-ins on the day of the event. Alcoholic beverages are available at an additional cost.

For $10 or $12, you get a housemade 8-oz. burger, fries, chips, soft drink, and a raffle ticket. A raffle, fire trucks on display, and 50/50 will be held during the event.

“Every bite helps us continue to serve and protect you,” wrote Fairmount on its Facebook page. “By attending our burger fundraiser, you're not only enjoying a delightful meal, but also supporting a crucial cause. The funds raised from this event will directly benefit our Volunteer Fire Company, providing essential equipment, training, and resources needed to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Your participation helps us continue our mission to protect and serve, and we couldn't do it without your generous support.”
