State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, announced that $52,694 in state funding has been awarded to Souderton Borough Police Department.
"Investing in the safety and efficiency of our law enforcement is crucial for the well-being of our communities," Malagari said. "This funding will enable Souderton Borough Police Department to enhance their technological infrastructure and better protect and serve the residents of our area."
The grant will facilitate the purchase of essential equipment, including an automated license plate reader, laptops, body armor, and desktop computers.
"As our communities evolve, we need to ensure our law enforcement agencies have access to the tools they need to adapt and respond to emerging challenges," Malagari added. "This funding represents a commitment to providing Souderton PD with the resources necessary to uphold public safety and maintain the trust of the community."
