Dump truck overturns down steep embankment at Lower Salford rock quarry Thursday

A dump truck driver was briefly trapped inside the cab of his vehicle after overturning down a steep embankment at the Harleysville Material LLC rock quarry Thursday afternoon.

Harleysville Vol. Fire Co. was dispatched shortly before noon to 460 Indian Creek Road for a vehicle rescue. 

According to reports from the scene, the driver was able to free themselves and Harleysville Area Emergency Medical Services did an injury assessment. The driver was not taken to the hospital, per reports.

Heavy rescue trucks are on scene to recover the truck from the embankment.
