A big ‘dill’ in pickleball coming to Lansdale.

An indoor pickleball center with 11 courts is set to open later this summer in a unit in the 19-acre industrial complex at 1180 Church Road, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Dill Dinkers Pickleball, which has a popular business in Maryland, has picked Lansdale and Hatboro as its two new locations, per the report. It is also expanding the trend to Virginia, Connecticut and South Carolina, according to the article.

The 37,000-square-foot Lansdale site is located across from Station Square Shopping Center. The property has been owned by Velocity Venture Partners in Bala Cynwyd since 2020, according to county property records.

"Especially in the areas that we've targeted initially, there just was not a lot of indoor pickleball offering," said Andrew Wakefield, regional developer for the company in Chester and Montgomery Counties, in the article. "From our perspective, it just made sense. There was a big need in the market."

All in all, Wakefield plans to open 14 new locations over the next six years in the Montgomery County region, per the report.

According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the nation as of 2022.
