A Lower Salford man has been sentenced to probation in connection with a June 2023 incident at the McDonald’s on Main Street in Harleysville.

Nasir Myers, 24, was sentenced to one year of probation on March 7, after pleading guilty to one misdemeanor count of possession of a weapon as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors. Additional charges of reckless endangerment, harassment, and disorderly conduct were dropped in exchange for his plea, court records show.

Sentencing notes indicate Myers was ordered to attend and complete anger management classes, and he is prohibited from having contact with the victim or going to the McDonald’s location.

Prior to the plea agreement, two felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child and a misdemeanor count of simple assault were withdrawn during Myers’ preliminary hearing.

Lower Salford Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Main Street at 9:43 a.m. on June 13, 2023 for a report of an armed subject. The manager at the location advised a male was becoming combative, had threatened staff with a rock, and had since fled the scene on foot, according to the criminal complaint.

Arriving police encountered the male — identified as Myers — walking away from the scene. Police said Myers was visually and verbally upset and indicated that he had been offered a job there but never received a call from management on when to start. Myers told police he was upset because he wanted to work, denied making any threats, and said he had gone to the location in person to speak to the manager about the job, the report states.

The manager provided a different account of events to police, stating that Myers had been hired one month prior, but he quit after working one shift because he didn’t like the job, the report states. The manager said Myers returned to the location three weeks later asking for his job back, however he was informed that the position had been filled and he would not be rehired, according to the complaint.

Myers returned to the location on June 13 and allegedly began shouting at staff while holding a rock in his hand, police said. The manager said Myers repeatedly gestured as if he had a weapon in his pocket, and repeatedly asked for a female manager, who had since been moved to a rear office for safety, the report states.

The complaint quotes Myers as saying "I’m going to break every f-----g window in this motherf-----g store. Go get [female manager]. I got something for her.”

Myers also stated he was going to kill a different manager, police said.

The complaint notes that approximately eight customers were inside of the store during the incident, all of which fled the scene. The manager also moved all other staffers to a crew room for their safety, police said.

Myers was taken into custody by police, at which time he stated he needed to get back to his apartment as he had left his 5- and 2-year-old children alone and unsupervised, the report states. Police arrived at the apartment for a welfare check, and after receiving permission to enter from the children’s mother via phone, they found the door unlocked and the two children inside watching television, according to the complaint.

Police remained on scene with the kids until a family member arrived to take custody, the report states.
