For the second Philadelphia Eagles home game of the season Sunday, Oct. 1, fans will be chanting K-N-I-G-H-T-S during halftime. The North Penn Marching Knights (NPMK) announced Tuesday on Facebook that the Eagles invited the marching band to perform as on-field entertainment at halftime for the 1 p.m. game versus the Washington Commanders.
The performance is part of the NFL’s Crucial Catch Game, which honors cancer survivors.
“We’ll be performing part of our 2023 Football Pre-Game Show, as well as some other music,” announced the Facebook post. “Look for the NPMK Color Guard to be featuring flags in all the colors of the Cancer Awareness Ribbons.”
According to the NFL’s website, each year every NFL team raises awareness during their Crucial Catch game, which features on-field and in-stadium Crucial Catch elements. Crucial Catch games also present a special opportunity to honor cancer survivors and those currently battling cancer.
