One day after police in Perkasie Borough issued a public alert about a black bear in the area, a bear was captured on surveillance outside of a home in nearby Hilltown Township.

Perkasie Police initially alerted the public on Friday afternoon after receiving several reports of black bear sightings. Investigators said the bear was last seen near North Fifth Street between West Callowhill Street and Blooming Glen Road, possibly headed towards Branch Road.

Police asked residents in the area to use caution and refrain from approaching wildlife, including the black bear.

The following evening, neighboring Hilltown Township posted a video to their Facebook page showing a black bear that was captured on surveillance traversing a backyard in the Pleasant Meadows neighborhood earlier Saturday morning.

Hilltown Police asked that residents report any bear sightings to 215-453-6011. View the video below.
