From the flagship store on Market Street in the heart of Philadelphia, Strawbridge & Clothier strove to meet the needs of its customers for more than a century. On Thursday, Sept. 28, Author Margaret Strawbridge Butterworth will chart the history of Philadelphia’s iconic Strawbridge & Clothier, including vivid stories from past employees as she invites you to join the “Store Family” at the Historical Society of Montgomery County.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a social gathering and light refreshments. Ms. Butterworth’s presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and last for about an hour with time for questions. Books will be available for purchase and a signing will be held both before and after the presentation.
This program is free and open to the public.
The Historical Society is located at 1654 DeKalb Street, Norristown and is handicapped accessible. Off-street parking is available behind Society Headquarters.
