Upper Gwynedd Carnival to be Held at Parkside Place This Week

For 32 years, the Upper Gwynedd Township Carnival at Parkside Place Complex has escorted one last hurrah before the start of the new school year, and this year it returns Thursday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 10.

This year, the carnival has Mega Pass wristbands, which are good for all four days for unlimited rides, at $50 a person. There is also a Family Pass, which is good only Thursday night and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., for unlimited rides, at $30 a person.

Tickets are $2 each, 12 for $20, 32 for $50 or 64 for $100.

There will be eight kiddie rides and 11 adult rides this year. The rides, ticket costs, and height requirements are as follows:

Kiddie Rides

  • Air Show, 1 ticket, riders must be 36” to 52”
  • Boats, 1 ticket, riders between 34” and 52”
  • Dizzy Dragon, 2 tickets, riders under 42” accompanied by adult
  • Dragon Wagon, 2 tickets, riders must be 36” to 56”
  • Hampton Cycles, 2 tickets, riders must be 36” to 56”
  • Hampton Jeeps, 2 tickets, riders must be 32” to 52”
  • Happy Swing, 2 tickets, riders must be at least 32”
  • Mini Jets/Flying Dragon, 2 tickets, riders must be 36” to 56”

Adult Rides

  • Cliffhanger, 3 tickets, riders at least 46”
  • Expo Wheel, 3 tickets, riders under 48” accompanied by adult
  • Fire Academy, 2 tickets, riders must be at least 36”
  • Fury, 3 tickets, riders must be at least 48”
  • Mardi Gras, 2 tickets, riders must be at least 36”
  • Merry-Go-Round, 2 tickets
  • Round Up, 2 tickets, riders must be 46”
  • Slide, 1 ticket, riders under 42” accompanied by adult
  • Super Shot, 3 tickets, riders must be at least 42”
  • Swinger, 2 tickets, riders must be at least 42”
  • Zipper, 3 tickets, riders must be at least 48”

Unfortunately, Saturday night will be the only night for fireworks this year.

The carnival is sponsored by Annie International, Tex Mex Connection, Code Inspections Inc., Wawa, WB Homes, Gilmore & Associates Inc, Cargo Trailers, and Lehigh Valley Dairy. The Midway and rides are by Skelly’s Amusements.

Carnival hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
