Sure, it may rival Clark Griswold’s Christmas display in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” but the Michael's Family’s seasonal Christmas display of 80,000 lights and a 25-year collection of vintage and modern blow-mold lawn figures at 102 Kimberly Way and Derstine Road always turn heads and stop cars who marvel at the bombastic holiday decorations.
Now, the nation will marvel along with the North Penn community when the Michael's family become a 2023 contender on Season 11 of ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight,” as announced on its Michael Family Christmas Display Facebook page. The announcement has garnered 143 reactions and 31 comments thus far.
According to a post from the family, the filming of the display was completed in November 2022.
“Once we know our specific air date, which we should find out by late October/early November 2023, we will be sure to post an update on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Until then, it’s never too early to set up your DVR’s now to record the series for later this year so you can see how the Michael Family performed against the other families we are competing against across the United States. You will have to watch the show to see,” it said.
“The Great Christmas Light Fight” broadcasts on 6ABC and can also be found on streaming platforms such as Hulu, Disney+, Apple, and several others.
