Following Several Months of Delays, El Limon to Officially Open This Week in Lansdale

Fans of authentic Mexican food who live in or near Lansdale Borough will have a new place to enjoy a free margarita with their meal come Wednesday, Sept. 6 when El Limon Mexican Taqueria opens its 24th location at the old PEAK Center spot at 314 Madison Street, next to Well Crafted Brewing Co., at 11 a.m.

“Followers, future customers, friends. After so many months of hard work, we are thrilled to finally announce we are ready to serve you! We thank each and every one of you for your patience, the Borough for their support, our fellow business owners for the advice and encouragement,” stated owners and operators Ada Artiga, Antonia Maria Rowan, Pedro Bucio, and Josue Estrada on El Limon Lansdale’s Facebook. “We couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out, and our team here at El Limon Lansdale looks forward to meeting you!”

Recently, the 2,200-square-foot restaurant was seeking experienced servers for its team to cover the 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. shifts. Email [email protected] for more details.

El Limon Lansdale is open seven days a week for dine-in and takeout. The owners are pursuing in-house delivery in the coming weeks, however delivery will not be available via third-party services such as Grubhub or DoorDash. Check out the El Limon menu here.

Much of the appeal of El Limon is due to its menu. Customers can find an array of tacos, burritos, salads, sopes, tostadas, tortas, enchiladas, fajitas, alambres, and quesadillas. Artiga told North Penn Now in February that the “Al Pastor” burrito is very popular, if you like marinated pork and pineapple.

Yes, there are free margaritas with every dine-in meal. There is no liquor license currently, and BYOB is a future consideration, Artiga told North Penn Now in February.

“If you’re not feeling up to having a margarita, that’s OK, but who doesn’t? Tacos and margaritas: what goes better than that?” she said.

Ambler husband and wife Bucio, of Mexican heritage, and Artiga, whose family hails from El Salvador, have been lucky to have family and friends in the food industry for support. Bucio is childhood friends with the owners of the original El Limon Taqueria in Hatboro. and Artiga’s brother-in-law owns the El Limon franchise on West Skippack Pike in Skippack, next to Skippack Village Italian Market, about a 15-minute drive from Lansdale.

El Limon has 23 other locations, including Skippack, Chalfont (205 E Butler Ave), Ambler (38 East Butler Pike), Norristown (1000 Sandy Hill Road), Royersford (451 W Ridge Pike), Eagleville (2828 E Ridge Pike) and Phoenixville (700 Nutt Road). Check out all the locations here.
