North Penn Grad Turned Marine Corps Officer Selected as All-Marine Athlete for Annual Marathon

Lieutenant Alixandra Valenti, 26, of Camp Pendleton, CA.

A former Lansdale resident and North Penn Class of 2015 graduate has been selected to the All-Marine Athlete Team for the upcoming 2023 Marine Corps Marathon Weekend in Washington, D.C.

Lieutenant Alixandra Valenti, 26, of Camp Pendleton, CA, is one of 10 Marines who will make up the 2023 All-Marine Marathon Team. Valenti was previously named Camp Pendleton’s Female Marine Athlete of the Year in April.

"It’s incredibly humbling to be selected to represent the Marine Corps in this capacity,” said Valenti. "It’s even more humbling to run a marathon.”

After graduating from North Penn High School, she went on to the United States Naval Academy and was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps in May 2019.

"Running for the All-Marine Running Team for the past 19 plus years has enabled me to stay connected to the young Marines and introduce them to the plethora of opportunities that the Marine Corps has to offer,” said All-Marine Marathon Team Coach Col. Joseph Galvin. "Leading this team and representing the Marine Corps is a way to develop camaraderie with my fellow Marines and the other armed service members.”

The 2023 Marine Corps Marathon Weekend will be held from Oct. 26 through Oct. 30, with the race itself being held on Oct. 29. For more information, click here.
