Lansdale Businesses, Drag Queen Annie Christ to Host Halloween Candy Crawl Saturday Afternoon

Lansdale’s favorite drag queen has announced they will again host an early Halloween Candy Crawl on Saturday afternoon, with more than a dozen local businesses participating.

"This is the third time I’m organizing the Trick or Treat on Main Street Candy Crawl,” said Eric Torres, also known as the drag queen Annie Christ. "I originally started it because of a little event you may have heard of, called the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic. It pretty much wiped out all holidays, social gatherings, and overall joy. I personally love Halloween and I know many others do as well, so I wanted to organize something that would keep the holiday alive.”

The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28 from noon to 2 p.m. on West Main Street and the surrounding areas. Participants are encouraged to arrive in costume, where they can then visit participating businesses for some early candy and treats.

"It’s a pretty simple concept: you go to each business in costume, say trick or treat, and they give you candy,” said Torres. "The businesses will have a paper hanger in their window so you know they’re participating, and they will be on the route I will share a few days before the event.”

Participating businesses for Saturday’s event include:

  • Comic Zen, 301 West Main Street Apt. A

  • Scent and Sip, 323 West Main Street

  • Backyard Beans, 408 West Main Street

  • Well Crafted Beer Co., 310 Madison Street

  • Small Batch Kitchen, 711 West Main Street Unit 101

  • Lansdale Tavern, 839 West Main Street

  • Stove and Tap, 329 West Main Street

  • Shane and Pepper Candle Company, 307 Derstine Avenue

  • The Healthy Shack, 325 Madison Street Suite E1008

  • Main Freeze, 813 West Main Street

  • Eclipse Center for Creative Community, 30 Vine Street

  • The Moon Gazing Rabbit, 831 West Main Street

  • Round House, 324 West Main Street

  • El Limon, 314 Madison Street

  • Oddy Knock Tattoo, 200 West Main Street Suite 100

  • Hair N Abstract Salon, 315 West Main Street

  • Pinnacle Ridge Winery, 34 Susquehanna Avenue

Additional businesses will be added to the list as the event nears, and businesses owners who wish to participate should send an email to [email protected]. Trick-or-treaters will be able to identify participating businesses via a paper hanger showing they’re an official stop for the event.

"Lansdale has so many great people and hidden gems in the community,” said Torres. "And I’ll be walking from location to location to say hi to everyone and hand out some surprises!”
