The high school’s ENACT (Environmental Action) club will host their annual fall electronics recycling day on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school, 1340 Valley Forge Road in Towamencin.
Items that can be recycled for free include computers and laptops, tablets, phones, servers (with or without chargers), printers, mice, keyboards, cables, computer batteries, networking equipment, docking stations, AV equipment, radios, DVD players, speakers, gaming equipment, toasters, blenders, food processors, and Dust Busters.
Items recyclable for a fee include CRT TVs for $40-$80 (fees vary by size), flat-screen TVs for $25, CRT monitors for $25, flat monitors for $7, air conditioners for $25, humidifiers, dehumidifiers or air purifiers for $25, mini fridges for $25, and microwaves for $15, according to EnAct.
In the 2022 recycling day, roughly 60 EnAct club students and volunteers, in partnership with PA Recycle Works, helped collect recyclables from nearly 600 cars that donated items, according to EnAct.
