The Lansdale Catholic High School Girls Volleyball team, in cooperation with the AOH "Yellow Jack" Donohue Division 4 of Montgomery County, conducted a service project together for their 2023 volleyball season.
Team members prepared 738 meals for Caring for Friends, a non-profit organization which distributes free meals for senior citizens in the Philadelphia area.
The AOH provided the food, and the Lansdale Catholic Volleyball teams provided the hard work.
After a long and successful season, both the junior varsity and varsity teams took time out of their practice schedule to make these meals on Monday, Oct. 16, and help those who are less fortunate in our community.
"Not only are we a team on the court, but we are a team off the court, too,” said senior co-captain Katelyn Dougherty. "Helping our community and Caring for Friends was a very rewarding experience, knowing that we all need to be part of our community and help those in need.”
Senior co-captain Maddie McLane added, "Coming together as a team to make over 700 meals for the people that truly need them was such an amazing experience, and the team and I are so grateful to have had this opportunity to help.”
Lansdale Catholic Girls Volleyball finished their season this week before heading into the PCL playoffs.
