Fromm Electric celebrated 100 years in business Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 11, at its Souderton branch.
The centennial celebration brought together company executives, associates and partners for a barbecue lunch, a corn hole tournament and electric product displays.
Founded in 1923 by Alexander Fromm, the family-owned wholesale electric distribution company is a leading distributor in the Mid-Atlantic region with nine branch locations and over 120 employees. Since its founding, Fromm Electric has passed through three generations of family ownership.
Michael Fromm, co-owner and CEO, took pride in Fromm Electric’s longevity and economic impact.
"It’s rare that companies get to be 100 years old, and I think it’s even more rare for those companies to be under the same ownership,” said Fromm. "We are so proud to be part of the economic development that drives the region, creates jobs and builds infrastructure.”
Lou Fromm, fellow co-owner Vice President of Business Development, cited the company’s relationships with its partners as the key to its success.
"It’s our relationship with our customers, our employees and our supplier partners. It’s that simple,” said Fromm. "Without that, we can’t do what we’re doing. So it’s a whole team effort.”
Representatives from some of Fromm Electric’s suppliers described positive working relationships with the company.
"They’ve been great, ever since we brought our Milwaukee tools into these branches,” said Dan Brown of Milwaukee Tool. "We’ve worked with every single branch manager. Everyone’s been awesome here.”
"They’re a very valuable distributor in the markets that they serve,” said Ed Fudala of Cusick Electric Sales. "We’re happy to be part of their year of celebrating 100 years in business.”
Michael Fromm took time to thank Fromm Electric’s associates, commending their loyalty and dedication to the company.
"Our turnover is very minimal, and we hope that’s because we have an appreciation for the work that they do and the commitments that they make,” said Fromm. "We know that we’re always sharing people with their families, and we try to respect that.”
Souderton Connects board member Kylie Harrington concluded with a message of gratitude to the company.
"You are a staple in our town, and we appreciate all the light that you have brought to us,” said Harrington.
