Brass Collar to Open Brewery in Souderton in November

With a target official opening date of November, Brass Collar Brewing Co. continues to renovate the interior of the former SEPTA train station freight building next to Northbound Restaurant on Front Street in Souderton, while also building a rapport with the community with its pop-up beer garden events.

According to Montco.Today, the brewery plans to open come November at 100 South Front Street, complete with an uncovered outdoor patio, fire pits and yard games. They have partnered with Menagerie Foods in Warminster to provide traditional bar food to clientele via food truck.

The business is co-owned by Benjamin Israel and Brody Bisson, according to Montco.Today, who began their venture mid-pandemic as a distribution-only contracted brewery.

The borough leases the train station, parking area, and buildings from SEPTA, and then subleases the space, per The Reporter. Souderton Council approved the sublease letter of intent in April 2022.

Northbound has operated out of the train station since 2018.

"We figured the only way to really expand was to find a great community like Souderton and get in here and open up a taproom to serve you guys and work with you for hopefully as long as we live,” Israel told The Reporter in April 2022. "We just want to be a mainstay in the community and we’re super-excited with you guys working with us.”

Brass Collar announced on its Facebook in August that it was approved for its beer sales license.

The pop-up beer gardens began on its outdoor patio in October, but Brass Collar has also had a presence at the Telford Night Market. In September, it, along with Branch Creek Taphouse, celebrated the release of the first official beer of Souderton – 18964 Kolsch, an authentic Kolsch-style ale made with Pennsylvania malt.
