A Bucks County woman is one of the stars of Bravo TV’s latest season of “Below Deck Mediterranean.”
Haleigh Gorman, who grew up in Middletown Township, graduated from Neshaminy High School as part of the Class of 2014. She remains close with her mom, dad, and stepmother in the area.
After high school, Haleigh took on a life of traveling and working on the water as a boat captain.
“She left here and never came back,” said J.D. Gorman, her father. “She’s a wanderer and wants to see everything.”
Haleigh has lived around the world and that evolved to being on a boat, J.D. said.
Haleigh had been working in Hawaii when she ran into someone from the show on a scuba dive. They suggested she would be great on “Below Deck,” a reality TV franchise that follows the crew on ritzy yachts.
J.D. said his daughter did an interview with the producers in March 2022 and talked to them a few more times. She then learned she made the cast for the new season, but she couldn’t tell many people.
J.D. and his wife Jill, who is Haleigh’s stepmother, had to keep it a secret for months.
“We couldn’t talk about it until recently,” he said. “The rumors started spreading, and half of Middletown was asking about it.”
Jill explained that she is a reality TV junkie, but never watched the “Below Deck” franchise until she was home sick. She quickly fell in love with the show.
Haleigh assured J.D. and Jill that she’s not involved in anything too embarrassing on the show, they shared with a laugh.
J.D. and Jill find it fun to watch Haleigh on the show and threw a watch party with friends and family at Langhorne Brewing Company when the premiere came on late last month. They thanked the owner of the brewpub for opening just for the watch party.
Recently, articles featuring Haleigh and her photo have appeared on the internet, which has been an eye-opening and funny experience, J.D. said.
The couple think Haleigh will do just one season of the series, which has been a mainstay for Bravo.
Bravo released a list of facts about Haleigh. They asked her to sum up the current season in three words – “super, crazy, hectic,” she said.
