Police have released some of the details from their preliminary investigation into a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Hatfield Township.
First responders were dispatched to the 1600 block of Forest Hills Drive at 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 28 for a report of shots fired. Arriving personnel located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound inside of the home, and he was transported from the scene via ambulance to Lansdale Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Hatfield Police Chief Bill Tierney.
The victim has since been discharged from the hospital, Tierney said.
According to investigators, the gunshot was fired from outside of the home. Tierney said police recovered ballistic evidence both inside the home, as well as from a wooded area between Forest Hills Drive and Moyer Road.
Police did not address if they have a suspect in custody or provide a description of the shooter. However, Tierney said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
"There is no active threat to the community at this time,” Tierney said.
Hatfield Police were assisted at the scene by units from Montgomery Township, Lansdale Borough, and Towamencin Township police departments, as well as VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
The Hatfield Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Detective Division at 215-855-0903, by clicking the "Submit a Tip” button here, or by email to [email protected]. Tipsters may remain anonymous, Tierney said.
