This Black Friday, you can either hold a purse or hold a pint.
Imprint Beer will be launching its inaugural Black Blues & Bourbon Black Friday extravaganza event starting at noon, including guest stouts, lives blues from Little Red Rooster Blues Band, and bourbon pours and cocktails from its sister company, Plasm Bourbon Co.
But first, on Wednesday night, Imprint celebrates Thanksgiving Eve with a private, ticketedBeer Share and food and clothing drop event, with all proceeds going to Manna on Main Street.
For $20 a person, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the BYOB Beer Share and Donation Drop event features in-house kitchen Cantina Rabo smoking a pig and making a lot of food to eat, Imprint Co-Founder Ryan Diehl said.
There is no admittance to the event without a ticket. Tickets can be bought online or at Imprint Beer. Beer can be bought for on-site consumption or takeout. It is a bring-your-own-alcohol event.
Diehl said the Black Friday event could shape up to be an annual party and one of four events that Imprint focuses on throughout the year.
"We did a large beer release and brunch party last year for Black Friday, which coincided with the USA vs. England World Cup match,” Diehl said. "This year, we’ve added live blues music … and two new bourbons from our sister company, Plasm Bourbon Co.”
Diehl said Black Friday is the perfect day to get out, eat and drink some fine beer and spirits, and start holiday shopping.
"It’s traditionally been a day to seek out new stouts from local and national breweries,” Diehl said. "Folks can expect a wall-to-wall stout and bourbon mini-beer fest. We have pulled beers and bourbons from some of the best breweries and distilleries anywhere.”
Attendees will be able to swig down two new Imprint Beer releases: The Seven Deadly Sins, a pastry stout set of barrel-aged bottles and non-barrel-aged cans, and Four Weeks of Schmoojee, a mixed four-pack of fruited sours.
"We sell (it) without divulging the flavors of the beers, and then we announce the flavors – one per week – leading up to Christmas Eve,” Diehl said. "Folks really enjoy the element of surprise and look forward to each week’s reveal.”
Thus far, the reveals have been "Chimney,” "Red Nose,” "Fa La La La La,” and "Sleigh.”
Furthermore, Plasm Bourbon, of West Chester, will sample its six-year, bottled in bond bourbon, as well as a two-year, 84-proof banger. Diehl said both will soon be available in bottles.
Diehl said they are raffling off beer and bourbon as well, with proceeds going to Manna.
Imprint Beer is located at 1500 Industry Road, Suite O in Hatfield, off Schwab Road. It is closed Monday and Tuesday, and open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
