Barstool’s David Portnoy Stops at Chalfont Pizza Shop for ‘One Bite’ Review

One bite – everyone knows the rules.

Barstool Sports founder David Portnoy – known for his "one bite” pizza reviews – made an appearance at Peppino’s Tomato Pies in Chalfont to rate their pizza, posted on the One Bite app. Prior to visiting Chalfont, Portnoy had been in Philadelphia for Alice Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” live show.

"A lot of people get the cheesesteaks or grinders, things like that. We’re here for the pizza,” Portnoy said in the video review, as he flipped open the box.

Portnoy rated a tomato-style pizza from Peppino’s.

"I love the tomato style because it’s so crunchy,” he said. "This doesn’t look like it’s going to be wildly crunchy to me.”

In his ever-descriptive ways, Portnoy described Peppino’s tomato pizza as having a "good undercarriage” and "not a lot of flop.” After taking four or five bites, Portnoy said he really liked the pizza.

"A little messy,” he said.

The final score – 7.8. Peppino’s holds an average rating of 8.3 on the One Bite app.

"It’s really good. A little sloppy, but I like tomato pies. Really solid start to this journey,” Portnoy said.

Peppino’s is located at 449 W. Butler Ave., Chalfont. Call them at 215-716-7722.
