Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Montgomery Township

Montgomery Township Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred at the intersection of County Line and Doylestown roads Tuesday evening.

Jonathan Nissley, 33, of Doylestown, was killed on Nov. 14 after a 2020 Hyundai Elantra turned in front of him while he was riding his motorcycle through the intersection around 5:24 p.m. After striking the rear passenger-side of the Hyundai, Nissley’s motorcycle continued and struck the front of a Nissan Juke.

Nissley was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Hyundai and Nissan — identified as a 36-year-old male from Lansdale and a 59-year-old woman from Blue Bell, respectively — were uninjured in the crash.

Information on funeral and memorial services for Nissley was not immediately available.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police worked to investigate and process the scene. The crash remains under investigation, according to Montgomery Township Police Lt. Gerry Dougherty.

Montgomery Township Police were assisted at the scene by units from the North Penn Crash Team, New Britain Township Police Department, VMSC Emergency Medical Services, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Colmar Fire Company, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, and fire police from several neighboring fire companies.

Witnesses or anyone with information on the crash, including anyone with video, are asked to contact Montgomery Township Department’s Highway Safety Unit at 215-362-2301.
