Bomb Squad on Scene at Upper Gwynedd Wawa After Suspicious Package Discovered (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Nov. 13, 1:14 p.m. - Chief Duffy has provided an "all clear," and units are beginning to leave the scene. Additional information will be provided in follow up coverage.

There is a heavy police presence at the Wawa in Upper Gwynedd Township after a suspicious package was discovered early Monday afternoon.

According to Upper Gwynedd Police Chief David Duffy, the package was discovered at the Wawa located at Welsh Road and Dekalb Pike. Multiple police departments are on scene, and the Montgomery County Bomb Squad is enroute to the scene.

Duffy said the area has been closed due to the incident, and motorists are asked to avoid the area. The nature of the package, how it was delivered or found, and the type of contents inside are currently unknown.

More information will be provided later Monday, Duffy said.
