Hatfield Township Woman Accused of Providing Alcohol to Minors

A Hatfield Township woman is facing charges after she allegedly provided alcohol to five teens during a gathering at her home on Oak Park Road in August.

Police allege 55-year-old Monique Weidler provided beer and twisted teas to five teens at her home on Aug. 5, and the teens later began drinking bottles of vodka. The teens spent the night at the home because they were intoxicated, and Weidler herself was also intoxicated at the time, police said.

Investigators said video footage from the gathering showed Weidler and the teens consuming alcohol, and at one point, Weidler administered a personal portable breath test on one of the teens. The parents of the teens involved were notified of the incident six days after it occurred, police said.

As a result of the investigation, Weidler was charged on Oct. 20 with five misdemeanor counts of providing alcohol to minors. Court records show the charges were filed via summons, meaning Weidler has not been arraigned yet and bail has not been set.

Her first court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
