The Montgomery County Recycling Office is reminding residents
that the drop-off recycling program for campaign yard signs will be running
again this year from Wednesday, Nov. 8 until Monday, Nov. 13.
Instead of putting yard signs in the trash, they may be brought to 16 sites across the county for recycling.
"Campaign yard signs are either paperboard or plastic with a metal stand,” said Veronica Harris, recycling manager for Montgomery County. "Plastic signs and metal stands cannot go into the regular curbside recycling; that is only for paper and packaging. Instead of sorting through what can or cannot be recycled, bring the signs to a participating location and we’ll sort through it for you.”
Drop-off sites will accept campaign yard signs during their normal hours of operation. Campaign sign recycling drop off sites are listed below:
Accepted materials are paperboard and plastic (corrugated and film) yard signs and metal stands.
