District Attorney Investigating Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting Sunday Night in Bucks County

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has announced an investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday evening in Northampton Township.

Investigators said the shooting occurred at 7:29 p.m. along the 500 block of Elm Avenue in the Churchville section of the township. Details regarding what led to the shooting have not been released, however investigators said a 40-year-old male was transported from the scene to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A Northampton Township Police officer was also treated for injuries sustained in the incident.

The investigation is being leg by the district attorney’s office and the Bucks County Detective Bureau. Officials declined to comment further and said they will not release the names of parties involved at this time.

An update will be provided upon the conclusion of the investigation.
