Backyard Beans to Debut Special Blend for 10th Anniversary on June 1

What began in a makeshift coffee roaster in a Weber grill in a Lansdale Borough backyard 10 years ago has evolved into a regional popular coffee brand with two Montgomery County cafes and a passion to bring responsibly-sourced coffee beans nationwide and globally.

Backyard Beans Coffee Company owners Matt and Laura Adams are celebrating a decade in delicious decadence with a special anniversary blend to be released June 1, according to Montco.Today.

According to the report, the Adams’ initially wanted to fill a niche that was not offered at the Lansdale Farmers’ Market — coffee. They decided to sell their own roasts, prepared in their backyard on a grill, and later in a bigger roaster in their garage, and the business took off.

Backyard Beans is now a community fixture.

“We’re so fortunate for the amount of support we’ve had over the years and feeling like we played a part in helping revitalize our town and neighborhood,” Matt Adams told Montco.Today. “It’s been an absolute joy to watch it all evolve into what it is today.”

Backyard Beans maintains strong connections to growers, producers, and importers worldwide to bring coffee beans from farmers and co-ops to the area. Coffee beans come from places like Ethiopia, Peru, Burundi, and Guatemala, and are offered in its shop as roasts, single origin or blends. Its organic nitro cold brews can be found in local grocery and convenience stores.

Backyard Beans roasts Monday to Friday and ships coffee no less than four days old. Its two coffeeshops offer a food menu daily until 2 p.m.

Visit Backyard Beans at its Lansdale location at 408 W. Main St. or at its Ambler location at 22 E. Butler Ave. Backyard Beans is open Sunday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
