After Failing to Identify Owner, Towamencin Police Transfer Goat to Rescue Farm for Medical Treatment

A goat with a broken ear tag and American flag bandana found Tuesday afternoon wandering along the tree line of Towamencin Community Pool has been transferred to a rescue farm for treatment and care for multiple medical conditions after failing to find a valid owner.

Towamencin Police said on their Facebook page that the Pennsylvania SPCA helped transfer the animal for treatment.

“While there were comments made on our original post claiming an owner had been identified, we were unable to ascertain a legal owner of the goat or whether or not the goat was being kept in a legal manner,” police said. “Many thanks to everyone who either shared our post or reached out to us about this little guy. Rest assured he's in good hands and receiving proper medical care.”

On the original Facebook post Tuesday afternoon, residents responded with both bad dad jokes and identifying information on the animal. The post had been shared more than 450 times prior to transporting the animal for care.
