1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Crash on Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Wednesday Night

Hatfield Township Police have released the details of a fatal crash that occurred on Bethlehem Pike near the intersection with Bergey Road Wednesday evening.

Crews were dispatched to the scene at 8:41 p.m. on May 17 for a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment. Police said the crash involved two vehicles, and sources said one driver was found unconscious and trapped inside of their vehicle, requiring extrication by first responders.

Both drivers and a passenger all suffered serious injuries and were transported from the scene, with one of the victims being pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time later. Police are not releasing the names or identifying information of the victims.

County dispatch showed Hatfield Township Police were being assisted at the scene by units from the Hatfield Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, Hilltown Fire Company, and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.

Anyone who witnessed or has information related to this incident is asked to contact the Hatfield Township Police Department’s Highway Safety Unit at 215-855-0903 or you can submit information via email: [email protected].

Prior reports by North Penn Now indicating that a tractor trailer was involved appear to be unsubstantiated, as several witnesses at the scene said the truck pulled over at the scene but wasn’t involved.
