Wells Fargo to Close West Main Street Location in Lansdale

Wells Fargo has informed their customers of their intent to close their location on Main Street in Lansdale later this summer.

Located in an iconic building along the 200 block of West Main Street, the bank is set to permanently close on Aug. 16, per a letter sent to customers from Wells Fargo District Senior Manager Anthony Gifoli. Customer accounts will not be affected by the closure, and customers will still be able to utilize the other nearby branch along the 700 block of Sumneytown Pike in Upper Gwynedd.

In November 2022, Wells Fargo filed to close three other locations across the region, including locations in Lafayette Hill, Boothwyn, and Haddonfield, NJ. According to a report by Jeff Blumenthal of the Philadelphia Business Journal, Wells Fargo — the Philadelphia region’s second-largest bank by deposits — has permanently closed 16% of their locations across the region since the beginning of the pandemic.

The bank also closed six branches in 2022 across the region, including locations in Jenkintown, Ardmore, Sharon Hill, Drexel Hill, West Chester, and Langhorne.
