‘Luxor Lansdale’ Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Thursday Afternoon

Lansdale’s newest apartment community held their official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday afternoon with Westrum Development CEO John Westrum, local officials, and several dozen others in attendance.

Dubbed “Luxor Lansdale,” the community is a five-story, 205-unit apartment building located off South Broad Street. Nearly 90% of the 205 units are one-bedroom or studio apartments, with the other 10% consisting of two-bedroom units. According to their website, rent for the apartments range from $1,800 per-month for a 500-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment, to $2,800 per-month for an 1,100-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment.

Shared amenities within the apartment community include a dog park, bike share, yoga studio, fitness center, gaming area, resort-style pool and sundeck, garage and surface parking, and more.

The Lansdale Planning Commission got their first look at the project in September 2018, as developers proposed the project on the three-acre parcel that was an EPA superfund site at the time, with well-known environmental issues having been the location of the former Lansdale Finishers plant. Developers approached North Penn School District for its support of a Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) ordinance, which was later granted and serves as a tax abatement for rehabilitating the distressed property.

“This project is a great example of the positive growth and redevelopment we have been seeing across Lansdale,” said Mayor Garry Herbert. “The existing plot of land was an EPA superfund site that required massive investment before its potential could be realized. Thanks to the Luxor team, that area has been rehabilitated with the addition of a beautiful building full of modern amenities that will attract more people to Lansdale and help make us an even better place to live, work, and play.”

Meyer, an architecture and design firm based in Ardmore, provided comprehensive design and architecture services for the project. The Meyer team also crafted the shared amenity spaces throughout the complex to promote social and active living among Luxor Lansdale residents.

Lansdale is the fifth Luxor project to be completed by Westrum Development, preceded by Luxor communities in Phoenixville, Norristown, West Chester, and Bala Cynwyd. Two other communities are currently under construction in Montgomery Township and Wilmington, DE, respectively.

Luxor Lansdale officially opened in December 2022, and current occupancy sits around 80 residents, per comments made by Westrum at the ceremony. Photos and floorplans can be viewed here.
