The Lansdale YMCA will play host to an organ donor fair on Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside of the main lobby at North Penn Commons.
Guests will be able to pick up literature on various living donor programs with a push for living kidney and bone marrow donors. All blood types and ethnicities are currently being sought.
“We don't have enough donors, nor do we have enough ethnicities to help people,” said Dottie Miller, who is helping to organize the event. “This cuts across all ages, races, and gender.”
Representatives from the Gift of Life Donor Program, Be the Match, and the National Kidney Registry will be on hand. Additionally, guests can receive a relaxing chair massage between noon and 3 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Lansdale YMCA, the Montgomery County Democratic Women’s Leadership Initiative, Miller’s Ale House, Sweet Ashley’s Fine Handmade Chocolate, and Valerie Rosenberger, LMT.
