One of Lansdale’s favorite restaurants officially has a new location, following their intra-borough move to the Pavilion Shopping.
Wister’s Barbecue, formerly of the 300 block of West Main Street, has officially completed their move into the former Joa Sushi location at 575 South Broad Street. Though the owner, Mike Wister, hasn’t made any official announcement through his company or social media, the restaurant did in fact quietly open for a soft launch earlier this week — much to the delight of lucky customers who popped their head in to see if they were open.
Unlike the former location on Main Street, the new space is adorned with edgy barbecue-themed tchotchkes and phrases, as the walls are bathed in various colors matching the Wister’s Barbecue logo. The space appears to be larger than the former location, but it’s actually a bit smaller though aided by higher ceilings.
There’s also an outside patio that will be fitted for seating once the weather becomes nicer.
On the menu side, all of the fan favorites and comfort foods have returned. Additionally, Wister took the opportunity to add customization options to some of his items, with possible hamburger and chicken sandwich options now exceeding 40 possibilities based on the tastes of the customer. Other menu staples, like the Texas Home Wrecker, can now also be customized as a wrap or even a salad.
