Man Pleads Guilty to Charges from August 2021 Drug Arrest in Lansdale Borough

A Glenside man has pleaded guilty to drug charges stemming from his August 2021 arrest in Lansdale Borough.

Darrelle Clayborn-Hall, 33, pleaded guilty on Monday to felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and flight to avoid apprehension, as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors just before the start of his schedule jury trial. Additional felony and misdemeanor drug charges and resisting arrest charges were dropped in exchange for his plea, court records show.

As part of the plea agreement, Clayborn-Hall was sentenced 404 days to 23 months in county jail, followed by three years’ probation. Court records show Clayborn-Hall was given credit for 404 days of time served while awaiting the resolution of his case, and he was subsequently released from custody.

The charges stem from an August 2021 incident on East Main Street.

Police were on patrol in the area of Main and Broad streets at 2:48 p.m. on Aug. 18, 2021, when they saw Clayborn-Hall walking west along the 100 block of East Main Street. According to the criminal complaint, police were aware that Clayborn-Hall had an active arrest warrant out of Ambler Borough, and they initiated a pedestrian stop towards the rear of Citizens Bank.

Police said they advised Clayborn-Hall of the active warrant and asked that he place his arms behind his back so they could take him into custody. Clayborn-Hall attempted to flee by running east on Main Street, however police pursued him on foot and took him into custody after a two-block chase, the complaint states.

Once in custody, police said a search of Clayborn-Hall uncovered 25 small, red cylinders containing crack cocaine, 18 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, nine bags of marijuana, one cylinder of marijuana, seven unknown pills and various drug packaging paraphernalia. The report adds that Clayborn-Hall did not have any paraphernalia related to the use of heroin/fentanyl, crack cocaine or marijuana, indicating that Clayborn-Hall intended to sell the narcotics.
