Woman Killed in Sunday Morning Fire in Perkasie, Police Investigating Cause of Blaze

Investigators with the Perkasie Borough Police Department and the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office are working to determine the cause of a fatal fire that occurred late Sunday morning.

First responders were dispatched to the 1300 block of Parkridge Court at 10:40 a.m. on March 12 for a report of an active building fire. Arriving personnel from the Perkasie Fire Company made entry into the residence and located the body of a 75-year-old female in an upstairs bedroom.

Police said the woman appeared to have suffered from smoke inhalation and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.

Crews remained on scene for approximately 3½ hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, as is the woman’s cause of death. A release from the Perkasie Borough Police Department did not indicate if foul play was suspected.
